Admissions Rankings

Path32’s Admissions Rankings 2021 quantify the admission standards of all 66 dental schools.  All the data used is from the 2021-22 entering class.  We use 4 main criteria in our Admissions Rankings 2021.  While there is undoubtably subjective criteria that go into the application process such as extracurriculars, interview, experience, recommendations, etc, we feel that these 4 objective and quantitative methods provide a good basis for the Admissions Rankings 2021.

-        DAT scores- each school reports the average DAT scores of its incoming class.  Each school reports 3 different DAT scores- Academic, Science, and Perceptual Ability. We use a weighted average of these 3 scores to rank each dental school.

-       GPA- each school reports the undergraduate GPA of its incoming class. Each school reports 2 different GPA’s- Overall and Science.  We use a weighted average of these 2 scores to rank each dental school.

-       Acceptance Rate- this metric quantifies how selective each school is when accepting applicants.  The Acceptance Rate is the # of accepted students/the # of applicants.  A lower Acceptance Rate indicates a more competitive school.

-       Enrollment Rate- this metric quantifies how desirable each school is to accepted students.  The Enrollment Rate is the # of enrolled students/the # of accepted students. A higher Enrollment Rate indicates a more desirable school.

Path32’s Admissions Rankings 2021 produce a weighted average of these 4 metrics to rank each dental school.
